What Is the Central Ohio SA Intergroup?
The purpose of the Intergroup is to seek knowledge of God's will for SA in Central Ohio and the power to carry it out. Intergroup's ultimate authority is a loving God as He expresses Himself in our group conscience. Intergroup achieves goals that are too large or difficult for individual groups. The Central Ohio SA Intergroup is the local group's link to SA as a whole and exists to help all SA meetings in Central Ohio.
According to the SA Service Manual, the Central Ohio Intergroup:
- Facilitates communication among SA meetings in the Central Ohio area
- Helps in starting new SA meetings
- Runs the centraliohiosa.org website, telephone referral system, and maintains monetary donations made to the Intergroup
- Maintains and publishes the Central Ohio SA Meeting Directory
- Hosts workshops, retreats, and area events
- Provides a forum for groups to share ideas for strengthening SA recovery in Central Ohio
In addition, the Central Ohio Intergroup:
- Maintains the Central Ohio SA Event Calendar
- Provides sponsorships to conferences, workshops, and retreats
- Links groups to each other, regional, and International SA updates
- Pools Central Ohio resources and knowledge for recovery
- Provides an area SA group conscience
Every SA group in Central Ohio can send a representative to the monthly Intergroup business meeting. The meeting is held on the first Monday of every month at 6:00 PM at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1479 Morse Rd, Columbus. All SA members are welcome.
